"A very responsive organization. The number of questions we had in the administration and the analysis phases never went unanswered. Well worth the price of the overall project. Definitely would recommend."

The Weather Channel needed to better understand the satisfaction and opinions of approximately 700 employees scattered across various offices throughout North America.  Given the geographic dispersion of employees and unpredictable work hours inherent to a 24 hour weather network, TWC management decided that an online survey was the most efficient and cost-effective way to collect employee feedback and opinions. Senior executives at The Weather Channel therefore decided to come to Infosurv for assistance.

Infosurv began by reviewing a paper-based employee survey that the company had used internally in prior years.  After suggested some improvements to the previous survey based upon its online employee survey experience, Infosurv submitted a revised survey draft to TWC management for approval.  Infosurv then created a user-friendly online survey version reflecting the final question set.

The online survey contained a number of technical features to facilitate a more effective user experience, including a save-and-resume feature, Personal Access Code (PAC) level security, and branching logic.  The branching logic incorporated into the survey allowed each respondent to see some questions only relevant to their division, department, or manager group.

Respondents were invited to take the survey via email, with regular reminder emails going out to uncompleted survey respondents.  After a two week online survey administration period, a response rate of 96% was achieved, far exceeding even TWC management’s most optimistic expectations.  Many employees commented on the ease and user-friendliness of completing the survey online.

Following the survey administration period, Infosurv performed a full analysis of the results and provided a number of standard and customized reports to TWC management.  Reporting included analysis by department, by manager group, and by other demographic variables such as headquarters vs. regional offices, full-time vs. part-time employees, employee tenure and employee ethnicity.

The results proved invaluable to The Weather Channel management, who has continued to choose Infosurv to conduct their annual online employee survey ever year since.
